Toyota Repair: Toyota Solera

Question
My daughter has our 2003 Toyota Solera out of state. Both her headlights went out. They now dim slightly when she turns it on before going out completely. It's an automatic, hard top, approx.112,000 mi. Has oil changes regularly. Recently purchased 4 new tires. It has been a very low maintenance car. Thanks

Answer
Hello, it could very well be that both bulbs went out or there is a relay or ground problem, if the high beams work ok then it can't be a ground since both share the same ground path, there are fuses under the hood in the fuse box near the battery, they are marked hi and lo, these should be checked as well, there is a headlight relay in there that needs to be checked to make sure it's tight in the socket, other than that it will take some checking with a volt/ohm meter.
