Toyota Repair: 2001 rav 4, rav 4, beeps

automatic 100,000kil, problem is the remote works but no longer beeps when opening or closing. any quick checks or does it have to go to the dealer.

Hello, this sounds like an aftermarket system or dealer installed, check under the hood near the firewall on the dirvers side for a small red beeper unit, if it's there it may be disconnected or just stopped working, they applying battery power directly to it.
