Toyota Repair: Brake lights, corolla station wagon, brake light switch

Question
The brake lights in my 1989 Corolla Station Wagon will not turn off, even when my automobile is turned off. I pulled the fuse to shut it off.
I found a piece of plastic under my brake pedal, it is black plastic, a semi-circle about the size of a dime.  Any ideas
I appreciat your time and expertise. Thank you.  Kelly

Answer
That plastic part should be attached to the metal tab on the brake pedal where it makes contact with the brake light switch, this part may be available from the dealer but if not use something else to make up for the plastc piece and see if the brake light works normally/
