Toyota Repair: 2010 Sienna blows hot air at the start, automatic climate control, diagnostic check

Question
I have a 2010 Sienna LE that blows hot air when the AC is first turned on. The hot air lasts about 50 - 60 seconds before it slowly starts to become cold. To me this seem strange because my 99 Camry becomes cold almost instantly as well as all the other cars I've had in the past. Is this normal? How long after I turn it should there be cold blowing?

Thanks - Mike

Answer
Doesn't seem normal to me, if this has automatic climate control which is a little more complicated than a manual system the best way to go about this is to have the dealer do a diagnostic check and see if there is any malfunction indication in the system. The only thing you can try doing yourself would be to just get a recharge kit and attempt to add freon as needed, there is a chance that it may just be low on freon and it may have a small leak somewhere, the warranty period for the system is 3yrs/36,000 miles/
