Toyota Repair: 05 Matrix, mass air flow, cam shaft

My mechanic found 7 sensors that went bad including a mass air flow,co2 sensor.knox sensor cam shaft sensor and something about bad
coils The symptoms were that the engine was hestitatiing stuttering
He changed the fuel filter Does all that make sense

Could that be a false positive

Do you have any diagnostic code information, is the check engine light on now? It doesn't sound right to have all the sensors go bad, I need some diagnostic code number information to try to locate the root cause of the problem.By the way the 05 matrix doesn't have an external fuel filter.
