Toyota Repair: 4wd doesnt engage, transfer case lever, indicator light

?I have read a lot of forum posts and most ask if they here an electronic sound or a soliniod switch click when the transfer case lever is pulled Into the 4H position. i hear no sound when i pll the lever what is most likely the cause? its a 92 3.0Lv6 manuel trans with AAD

Hello, does the 4x4 indicator light on the dash turn on when putting it in 4x4? The manual transmission uses a manual selector for 4x4 there is no solenoid, there is an actuator on the front differential that is engaged when selecting 4x4, if the actuator is not working the indicator light on the dash will not turn on.
