Toyota Repair: 96 Toyota T100, toyota t100, knock sensor

Question
A friend of mine is having an issue with his 96 T100 v-6. It was missing pretty bad. After an OBDII test, it showed a knock sensor and a cylinder 4 misfire codes. A local garage change the knock sensors, but a few days later the miss returned. It is not a constant miss. It may miss for a few miles, then stop. I believe the miss was the issue causing the knock code. He has tuned it up also, with no success. Any ideas before he starts dropping even more money? Plugged injector?

Answer
Hello, I agree that replacing the knock sensor was not the problem, it's the effect not the cause, the engine miss caused the knock sensor signal. Do you have the misfire code numbers, if not have the ecm rescanned again and let me know the diagnostic code numbers, these are important in diagnosing and giving you the best answer.
