Toyota Repair: 98 Toyota Camry, fluid contamination, toyota camry

Question
Hello Expert,
I have a 1998 Toyota Camry that is giving an diagnostic code of P0573 how can I fix this? Is it simply replacing a solenoid?

Thank you for all of your help and your time.

Answer
Most of the time transmission solenoid codes are set because of fluid contamination due to either lack of fluid changes or metal particles and friction material due to worn parts, these can clog the small orifices of the solenoids. It may be necessary to remove the transmission oil pan and check for metal particles and other material in the bottom, if there is a significant amount the transmission is starting to have some problems. Check the fluid, is it dark and discolored or smells burned? You may be able to just have the transmission flushed using a fluid exchange machine if the transmission is operating normally.
