Toyota Repair: 93 Toyota 4Runner engine problems, toyota 4runner, radiator fluid

Question
I had just parked my truck. The engine was warm, and idling. It started running extremely rough, and got the smell of burning rubber (like fan belts). All the dash lights came on: Engine, Brake, ATF Heat, etc.

I turned it off immediately. I looked under the hood/chassis, no fluids leaking, and no smoke.

After a couple of minutes I fired her back up, and for 10-15 seconds, all was normal, then it started running rough again, with all dashboard lights, and the burning rubber smell returned again. Shut her down.

Checked all the fluid levels, and they where good, and no signs of contamination (didnt drop the pan, but the dipsticks looked clean, as does the radiator fluid).

I fired her up one more time with someone looking under the hood, and he said one of the belts wasnt turning. All the symptoms showed back up again

Is the water pump is seized up? Did I spin a main bearing?

Answer
Check the a/c compressor and the belt, the a/c compressor clutch may have seized up, the a/c does not need to be on for this to happen. It could also be a water pump problem, it depends on which belt is not turning there are three if it has power steering.
