Toyota Repair: 88 celica GT - high idle, celica gt, vacuum hose

Question
Hello Ted, this is 88 Celica GT get stuck high idle 1500 RPM. Car sits about 2 years get it start, clean throttle body with brush and air intake cleaner, check all air hoses go to throttle body still connect but no help.
My questions is if I want to remove the throttle body to clean. I need your suggestion, advise, any things need to be watch out, do I need a new the gasket... as I never done this before.
Thank you very much in advance.

Answer
On this engine I think the gasket isd paper which normally breaks so I would say yes you will need a new gasket, I'm just not too sure if cleaning it is the answer, there is a small vacuum diaphragm on the throttle body, check to make sure the vacuum hose to it is connected and getting vacuum when the engine is at idle.
