Toyota Repair: 1987 Toyota Cressida, 1987 toyota cressida, toyota cressida

Question
QUESTION: Hi, my father has a 1987 Cressida.  He experiences a problem when the weather gets hot.  His car won't start.  We live in Canada.  I believe that is the only issue he has with it.  Can you point us in the right direction, because he's very fond of this car and has spent money trying unsuccessfully to fix the problem.  Thank you.

ANSWER: Can you give me some idea as to what has already been done? Is the problem that the engine doesn't start while turning over or is the engine not turning over at all when trying to start it?

QUESTION: The engine doesn't turn over at all.  He says all the belts and plugs have been replaced.  He's gone through alternators, and starters as well.

Answer
If the engine doesn't turn over at all then there is a problem with the battery voltage getting to the starter, possibly an ignition switch issue, a voltage drop between the positive wire from the battery and the starter or possinly a stater relay in the fuse box under the hood, unfortunately I do not have an electrical wiring diagram for this model.
