Toyota Repair: 07 sienna will not start, battery problem, battery connections

Question
QUESTION: I pulled into my carport, shut down the car, but then turned over the key so that I could listen to the last few minutes of a satellite radio program.  After a few minutes, the satellite radio started shutting off and on, then quit altogether.  I tried to start the car to see if that would re-power the radio.  However, nothing happened when I turned the key.  I have tried several times over the last hour, but the car shows no sign of starting.

The battery indicator "eye" is green. Everything under the hood LOOKS good to me. The car's a/c fan will run when I turn the key to auxiliary and turn it on.  The car is stuck in park now, and I cannot budge the shifter.  There is no sound when I try to start the car.  Nothing happens, except all the indicator lights on the dash come on as normal.  Since the radio "blinked" several times before it went out, I guess it wouldn't be a fuse?  Am I going to be able to start this car, or am I going to have to have it dragged out of my carport and towed somewhere?

Thanks.

ANSWER: It sounds like a battery problem, do you have roadside service like AAA or similar, they can try to jump start or you can try replacing the battery or jump start using another car. If it start then trplace the battery.

QUESTION: Thanks for the quick reply.  Would the battery indicator "eye" be green if this were a battery problem?

The car has had absolutely no problem starting instantly up to now, and had just come in from a 50-mile round-trip drive. It's not even trying to start, as I think a LOW battery would, and there's no clicking noise or anything else.  There's just nothing when I turn the key.

Thanks.

Answer
Those battery "eyes" are not always reliable, we need to start somewhere and the first thing is to make sure the battery is not the problem. Check the battery connections, make sure they are tight and not corroded. When turning on the headlights are they bright,if so leave them on for about 5 minutes and see if they go dim.
