Toyota Repair: 1990 toy pu 2wd auto 22rec, accelerator cable, metal collar

Question
Takes too long to shift out of first, recently had timing chain kit installed no warning lights on , fluid full and clean, no burn smell all other shifts ok.

Answer
Check the throttle pressure cable on the throttle body next to the accelerator cable, it should have a small rubber boot on it, pull the boot off and check to see if the small crimped on metal collar is about 1/16" away from the end of the cable housing, adjust the nuts on the cable housing until the distance is correct.
