Toyota Repair: 99 Rav4 Stalling, toyota parts, hot weather

Question
I have a 1999 Rav4 automatic with 85700 miles on it.  it's been stalling occasionally when pulling up to a light.  I've noticed that it is much more frequently in hot and very hot weather (A/C on#. Also it seems to happen after more after restarts, after the car has been sitting for about an hour.  It'll stall when coming to a stop. but only sometimes. I've also notice a stumble at speed in steady state or light load, from 35 mph up.  I seems to buck a bit. almost like a down shift. The car will sometimes buck pretty severely when I pull away from stop.

The tune up is 3 months old, including plugs.  I replaced the timing belt, as well as the water pump an belts.

I've watched the idle when I've cycled the compressor on and off, and it seems to idle up properly, but I can't be sure it does all the time.

Again.  It seems to occur in hot #90+ degrees and up# weather.

I had been a Toyota Parts Manager for many years, back in the day. And seem to recall a similar issue with ignitors, Particularly with Tercels. #am I showing my age yet?)

Answer
Hello, this does sound like a possible electrical issue, possibly spark plug wires, dist cap, rotor, you didn't mention if they were checked or replaced, another common fault is the ignition coil (inside the distributor)these tend to develop cracks or leaks to ground causing arcing to ground so check the coil carefully for any signs of this, let me know what you find.
