Toyota Repair: ac compressor, ac compressor, rudy

the ac compressor makes a screeching noise when it engages, the noise goes away after about 1 minute. I thought maybe the clutch is failing, what are your thoughts? Thanks very much, Rudy CA

You did'nt mention the year and model but this may only be due to a loose drive belt, some models use one belt for all accessories and some have a dedicated A/C belt, make sure it's tight and adjust it if necessary. If the belt is not the problem I need vehicle information including mileage on the odo.
