Toyota Repair: 2004 Sienna, cv axle, temperature gauge

My steering wheel gets tight when turning and there is a clicking sound when slowing and turning.  My car also overheats when idling.  The fan works and the car cools when driving.  Are these related?  What is wrong?

How high on the temperature gauge does it overheat? Does it overheat only when driving or only when idling for a long time? The clicking noise does not seem tpo be related this is a mechanical issue, possibly a CV axle noise or a wheel bearing, hard to sday without hearing the noise.
