connector diagram
I am attaching a connector diagram, the circled connector is the diagnostic connector under the hood, locate and ground the #2 terminal with the key on and see if the check engine light stays on

Answer:The light stayed on when i grounded the #2 terminal. Also i put a new computer in but no light

Answer
Go to the #9 terminal on the same connector and see if the light still turns on by grounding there. The problem has to be right there, by grounding the #2 terminal you proved that the circuit from the ignition switch through the light to that point is ok, so the problem has to ge in this area.
