Toyota Repair: 2001 Lexus es300, lexus es300, lexus es 300

Question
I am currently working on a Lexus es 300 trans im just supposed to b swapping the old trans with a new one. My ? is do i have to remove the engine to do this?

The factory manual states to remove the engine first, I have never remvoced a transmission on the Lexus but it's basically the same as the Camry which I have removed, it can be done by supporting the engine then removing the subframe and removing the transmission from the bottom, unless you have the car on a hoist I would not recommend doing it this way.
