Toyota Repair: 1997 Toyota Tacoma, timing, belt

Question
We are trying to change the water pump in a 1997 Toyota Tacoma.  We are to the point of removing the chrank shaft pully and can not wedge anything in the fly wheel to keep the engine from turning

Answer
Get a socket that fits the bolt and place a long extension on it that is wedged against the floor or frame.  Now, "bump" the ignition; do not start the truck!  Bumping the ignition will allow the crankshaft to spin while your wrench (and therefore your blot) are stationery.  This will loosen your crankshaft bolt!
