Toyota Repair: 1994 toyota 4 runner/fuel, airflow meter, plenum chamber

Question
I have a 3.0 litre 94 toyota 4 runner. It is Idling sparratically and also blowing black smoke when you rev the engine in Park.No check light coming on.Started vechile and sprayed water on the engine compartment to check for a air leak ,I did not hear the engine settle with the idling. It continued to idle sparratically.

Answer
It may be an airflow meter problem or possibly a computer (ECM) problem, check the airflow meter flow control door, remove the top part of the air filter, make sure the door on the inside isn't sticking or staying open. Possibly an injector sticking, check the cold start injector on the upper plenum chamber on the right side, remove it and block the opening and see if it makes a difference and if the injector keeps spraying fuel after the engine starts. Finally, check the EGR system it's possible that the EGR valve is staying open at idle and acceleration when it should be off.
