Question
QUESTION: how do one remove upper half of front brake line

ANSWER: Why are you removing the upper half of the front brake line?  Are you removing the section from the master cylinder or the flexible rubber hose?

QUESTION: the flexible rubber hose located in wheel well

Answer
You'll need the proper size metric wrenches, probably a 10 mm.
Using the open end of the wrench, loosen the nut by turning counterclockwise.  You will lose some brake fluid so try to keep the master cylinder from draining. (you do not want to have to bleed the entire brake system)
Once you have the nut loosened unclip the hose assembly from the strut.
Loosen the nut connecting the hose to the brake caliper.
Remove the old hose and place the new one in service.  Assembly is the reverse of removal.
Remember to bleed that line.  Do not allow the master cylinder to drain.  You may want to consider having an assistant help you.

Hope this helps.
