Toyota Repair: EGR Valve, tuneup, check

Question
I have had my 2000 Toyota Camry in the shop in the last two months for check engine light. The Toyota dealer said I needed a tune-up so I said go ahead and do it they only changed the plugs not the wires. Then we took it back when the light came on again they said nothing was wrong. So we took it to another shop and they said the code was my EGR Valve so we have had that changes and everything cleaned out. Well it is still on. Can you help me with what this problem can be and how to fix it.

Answer
First off, you are being jerked around by people who change out parts and hope for the best.  You need to find yourself a real mechanic, one who can not only read codes but can interpret them and troubleshoot your car to determine the exact problem.  Ask the person you take your car to if they will gaurantee their work will resolve your problem.
A tuneup is much more than changing sparkplugs, if all the dealer did was change plugs, then you got stiffed.

Hope this helps
