Toyota Repair: 1990 Toyota Celica ST, celica, door

Question
When the doors are closed and locked, the door ajar light and dome light stays on and if I set the alarm it goes off too. Should try cleaning the door latches?  If so, how?  Thanks.

Door latches are NOT your problem, it is either the drivers side or passenger side door switch.  The switch is usually covered with black rubber and sits somewhere around the door frame.  This "tells" the car whether the door is open or not.
With one door open push in on the switch.  See if the dome light / door ajar light extinguishes.  If not, try the other side.  If these two don't work then the switch may need to be replaced.  Pull the rubber boot and inspect each switch.  You may need to do the electrical check on each switch.  You may need to replace the switch.
