toyota corolla 87.car run good at idle but boggs down when asked for gas (at acceleration) and shuts down .

Most of the time this is caused byan air leak on the intake system, check the intake hose for cracks, remove the top of the air cleaner and check the air flow meter, make sure the door can move all the way open and closed. If nothing visibly can be found I would have the fuel pressure teseted but first try replacing the fuel filter.
