Toyota Repair: Air Flow Sensor, air flow sensor, air leaks

Question
i have 1996 toyota corolla AE110 5A engine car and the mechanics r saying it has an air flow sensor problem which i have already replaced yet i have problems in starting the car, the idle is high once the idle is put to normal @800rpm the steering wheel vibrates alot. when starting the car at times i have to immediately accelerate it so that the engine keeps running. i am not sure what to do and have no idea what the problem is.

Answer
I'm sorry I don't think I can help much because the 5A engine was not used in the US, I have no information for this engine, the only thing I could suggest is to see if it has a manifold absolute pressure(MAP)sensor, it's usually mounted on the firewall and has a single vacuum hose going to it, try replacing it, another thing to do is to make sure there are no air leaks on the intake pipe, check it for cracks and try cleaning the inside of the throttle body.
