Toyota Repair: Power Steering fluid leak, power steering fluid leak, power steering leaks

Question
Hi Ted
I check tires & fluid levels every two weeks. 2003 Camry LE 4 cyl. 104,000. Noticed today reservoir just above min level, has been close to but not right at max. Looks like fluid been leaking onto frame & wheel-well. Not much, just looks damp. The cloth-looking hose that lays on top of the frame looks wet, but no obvious leaks or splits or punctures. Haven’t noticed any leaks on garage floor. No problems or sounds with steering. So can’t be much of a leak---yet, but it is obvious. Any ideas and if I have to replace all the hoses (3?), can I do it without losing all the fluid or is it like replacing the coolant hoses where you pretty much get a flood? And any tricks or special tools I need to know about? Best I can tell it’s just clamps. Thanks so much, Don

Answer
There are two common power steering leaks on this year camry, the power steering pump and the steering rack, I would advise to clean the whole area with a pressure washer and then drive it about 500 miles to see where the leak is actually coming from.
