Toyota Repair: air bag light stays on 1990 toyota celica, toyota celica, jumper wire

Question
I HAVE A 1990 TOYOTA CELICA. THE AIR BAG LIGHT/INDICATOR SHOULD GO OUT WHEN THE ENGINE IS STARTED OR WHEN DRIVING. I NEED TO KNOW ALL THE POSSIBLE CAUSES FOR THAT. AS YOU KNOW THE DEALERS WANT AN ARM AND LEG FOR THIS TYPE OF REPAIR. IF YOU WOULD PLEASE HELP ME !

Answer
The dealer will charge a diagnostic fee up front of about $90. This will retreive the troublke codes in the system, in most cases additional time is needed to diagnose the problem, since this is an early OBD I sytem you can retreive the code yourself. Under the hood locate the diagnostic check connector, open the cover, with the key on place a jumper wire between the terminals Tc and E1, the air bag light will start to flash. the codes are two digit numbers, for example a code 12 would be one blink followed by two, there may be more than one code, there will be a small pause between each code, let me know what they are.
