Toyota Repair: Middle vents dont blow out any air., air flow control, toyota camry

Question
"I have a 93 Toyota camry. I brought it used in 2003 with 160K. It is still driving great. Last summer the a/c began giving me problems and here it is. The a/c only blows air of the 2 side vents on the side by the doors, but only at half the power it used too. And it doesn't blow any air out of the 2 vents in the middle of the dash. any clues?"

I have the same problem as this person. When I switch the Air Flow Control Knob to "Face", all the air is coming from the defrosters and the Floor. And the side vents just blow out a little air. I should remove the front dash panel right? Got any tips? Thank you very much for your time.

Answer
The problem is that the control cable that directs air to the different vents either came of or broke off at the end, remove the glove box door and check to see if the cable is still attached to the lever that controls the air door, make sure it moves the door when moving the control knob, if the end of the cable is broken off then it should be replaced, if it's connected bu doesn't move then it came off on the control panel end.
