Toyota Repair: Parking Brake Cables, brake cables, 22re engine

Question
I have a 1990 4Runner that I am basically restoring (it has almost 300,000 miles so I think it is time) and one problem that I am wanting to address is the parking brake.  I was told that the light wants to stay on in the dash becauase the front cable is in bad shape and in need of replacing.  I do not use the parking brake much since it is an automatis but looking to change to a manual and regardless would like the parking brake working properly.  I have been looking everywhere and I can find both rear cable without any problems but I cannot find anyone that carries the front cable that goes through the firewall onto the parking brake handle.  I am about to install a completely new interior adding new seat belts, carpet...really everything and this is currently holding me up.  Also, on a another front I have a friend with a 87 Toyota pick-up that is four wheel drive with the 22re engine.  He is willing to sell me the entire drive train motor, 5 speed manual trans and transfercase.  Will this simply bolt into the 90 model 4Runner that I currently have?  I know that the tranfer case is nothing like the one on the automatic I have...which I believe is a good thing.  Anyway, please let me know something ASAP.

Thanks

Answer
Since that year 4 Runner used both the V-6 and the 4 cylinder engines there should be very little modification necessary to make the swap, the electronics are completely different so make sure the wire harness and the computer are also used from the 87. Have you tried the toyota dealer for the front e-brake cable?
