Toyota Repair: brake fuse keeps blowing, light assemblies, fj62

Question
hello, i own a 1988 fj62 landcruiser and everything on the  back lights works fine exept that the brakes dont work and the fuse blows.. the lightbulbs are good because when i turn on the headlights they still go on, but when i brake they do not light up. Can you please help me find my problem? the taillights have been bumped a couple weeks back so the plastic cover has been broken, but this is the first time the brake lights have stopped working.

Answer
Check for a short citcuit to ground, remove the rear light assemblies and check the wiring, check the bulb sockets for any corrosion or contact burning, with both light assemblies disconnected install a new fuse and see if it stays intact when the pedal is depressed, if so the problem is at the tailight units or their wiring.
