Toyota Repair: toyota highlander VSC, vacuum hoses, toyota highlander

Question
I am wondering what it means when your VSC light goes on as well as your MIL light? What kind of a repair is needed and is it expensive?
thanks

Answer
In most cases the check engine light is the root cause for both lights to turn on, when the MIL turns on the VSC is disabled causing the vsc light to turn on, the first step would be to connect a scantool to the onboard computer to find out what the trouble codes are and correct that first. It may be something simple like a gas cap that was left loose or a hose disconnected under the hood, these are the most common causes for check engine lights. Check to make sure the gas cap is on and tight, check under the hood especially the air filter housing for any disconnected vacuum hoses.
