Toyota Repair: toyota sienna smell, toyota sienna xle, rodent droppings

We have a 2008 toyota sienna xle with 17,000 miles on it. When we turn the a/c or heater on we have a terrible smell. We have changed the cabin filter. Do you have ANY help for us? Thanks!

What did the cabin air filter look like when it was removed? At this mileage there should be no smell at all. It's possible that a rodent crawled inside the air ducting and died there. Ckeck under the hood and inside the air filter housing for any rodent droppings or evidence of nesting activity.
