Toyota Repair: 1994 Toyota pick up AC problem, metal particles, ac compressor

Question
Dear Ted, My favorite mechanic put a new AC compressor in my truck on Thurs.  All ran great until today (Sat.) when we used it on a "road" trip 45 min. out of town. Now the AC barely blows at all despite making a loud fan sound that sort of sounds like it's trying to blow.  I called him and he suggested it might have frozen up (it was awfully cold air while it lasted) and to simply run it without the AC involved for a few minutes (fan setting only) but that didn't solve the problem.  Any ideas?  Thank you.

Answer
The compressor may have seized up, this could be because the old compressor may have deposited metal particles into the system, it depends what happened to the old compressor. It may be as simple as a restriction in another part, the expansion valve or the receiver drier, your mechanic should connect the pressure gauges and see what the readings are, so just take it back there and have him recheck it.
