Toyota Repair: 97 corolla dx power door locks, power door locks, corolla dx

Question
Power door locks activate by themselves.  If you unlock the doors with either drivers or passengers door switch, the doors re-lock instantly by themselves.  Same is true when using the key in the door.  As soon as you unlock the door or doors, they re-lock.  Happens when the car is running or not.  I suspect a relay that controls all the doors, but where?  My Chiltons manual doesn't help.  If so, how do I get to it to replace it?  Is it possible that the drivers door switch is worn out to the point of continually making contact?  Car does have 251K miles on it, but I would like to keep it for another year.  Just did brakes all around, tires and timing belt.

Answer
When you lock the doors and they automatically re-lock, do you hear the relay switch? You can look at a genuine toyota wiring diagram at your local library to locate the circuit. the relay is either under the dash kick panel on the drivers side or the passenger side. Most likely it's a bad relay switch. If you are only going to keep the car for another year, you might not want to spend much money into it. Search your local junk yards for the same year/make/model for the switch you need.
