i have been battling this for some time this truckgets warm just below the red. i have good flow i have recently had the radiator roded and cleaned 40% blockage i replaced t stat and 2 years ago water pump, had the head reworked and replaced timing chain and all rails. this truck has alot of power and coolant stays full please help me

Hi there,

Since your truck is a little older, you might want to think about replacing the radiator with a new one. I do understand that you had work done to the original one, but in my experience they are the root cause of cooling problems in older trucks with the original radiator. If your truck was mine, I would replace the standard 190 T-stat with a 180. When replacing the t-stat housing, make sure you use a liquid teflon on the t-stat housing bolt threads to prevent seizing. If you are using toyotas "red" coolant, back flush your entire system and replace it with prestone, or the "green" coolant. once your system has been completely flushed, it will require one gallon on anti-freeze, top it off with water.
