Toyota Repair: Camry engine light, toyota camry v6, toyota camry

My car is a 2000 toyota Camry V6 with approx 93,000 miles on it.  Recently I've smelled gas while driving.  Today the check engine light came on.  Do you think that the problems are related, bad fuel cap?

That is a possibility, have you checked the fuel cap to see if it's on tight or missing? It may be something else so I would recommend having a diagnostic scantool connected to find out what the trouble codes are then you can let me know if more help is needed.
