Toyota Repair: 99 toyota Avalon computer, avalon computer, toyota avalon

Is there such a thing as a refurbished computer for the 99 Avalon?  We were told by our Toyota dealer that the computer needs to be replaced.

Toyota does remanufacture computers for some models, they do not sell them as refurbished, the dealer should be able to tell you whether the computer that they are going to install is new or remanufactured to factory specs, some aftermarket companies may sell refurbished or used computers but I'm not familiar with any of them.
