Toyota Repair: 1999 Camry LE Low Compression?, compression issues, camrys

Question
I know nothing about about cars and have been looking online to find out
whatever information I can re: my Camry.  Symptom: When I turn the ignition,
the engine turns, runs for about 5 seconds and then cuts out.  It seems to
have issues when idling low, because sometimes when I pump the gas a little
while running, the problem goes away and I can drive normally.  This has
happened four times (intermittently) in a 6-month period, the last occurring
yesterday.  Except it really took multiple efforts to finally get it to start.  My
friend thinks it's a fuel line problem (not enough fuel getting to the engine),
but some other discussions online seem to allude to compression issues.  I'm
taking the car to the dealer tomorrow, so I'll report back what he suggests,
but I curious what to expect?  I've had no major issues to this point, but
certainly

Answer
This is a common problem on camrys, it's the idle air contro(IAC) valve that's causing this problem, the valve is attached to the intake throttle body and controls the idle speed based on information from the onboard computer, the valves have a tendency to stick which causes idle problems, hard starting and stalling, let me know what the dealer recommends, I think they will agree with me.
