Toyota Repair: 92 T-100 intermitant mis or runs bad, vacuum gauge, core tubes

Question
QUESTION: My 93 t-100 w/ 334,000 miles 3.0 efi has been good to me , but it is driving me crazy with an intermittent problem that has become full time, without a check engine lite,   ( I wish the lite would come on ) to tell me whats broken. I replaced wires, plugs, cap, rotor, and a compression test. all cyl's range from 148 to 160  no two readings are the same, I have read 20 pages of your answers to other Questions and I know your the man, and it seems I should be looking for a bad vacuum hose or intake leak, can I test with a vacuum gauge, I 'm not finding any leaking hoses, can't get to all the injectors but it is still intermittent , just so bad now, where it seems its running on three or four cylinders, when it does decide to act right it still purrs just like it has for many years, I notice many of your answers to similar questions say vac, leak, but there are so many hoses and some that go to switches or diaphragm shaped parts, I can't let this truck go, and I'm told $225. for eng diagnostic, my luck is when I give in to a test, it will be the same day the truck goes through on of it's good days, I hate intermittent problems any easy tips you could give to find a leak at a vacuum hose or intake?, is this the direction I should be going? thanks for any mission you could send me on, I want MY truck, it did have the recall head gasket done 20 or 30 thousand mile ago and I paid to have new timing gears or belt, and new water pump installed when they did this work at the same dealer I bought it from, this is the first time I have worked on it myself, all other work through the years has been done at the Toyota dealer, and have found so many disappointing things that this dealer has done, ie: broken clips / fixed w/ty wraps and the plugs I took out where three different types, not the type workmanship I would expect from a dealer, they also broke one of my heater core tubes, but denied they even touched them , but would of had to to do recall work, I can handle the no heat but need my truck to run right all the time. Thanks much for any guidance

ANSWER: Before doing anything else check the ground connections at the passenger side cylinder head at the rear, there is a 10mm bolt on the camshaft bearing housing that has a bunch of ground wires attached to it, they are all brown/black wires, these are computer ground points, if they are not tight it can cause intrmittent fuel injector misfires as well as ignition. Let me know and we'll go from there.

QUESTION: Ted, Thanks , I checked for the ground point you are referring to but I'm unable to find it, I can see the rear of the cam shaft housing on the passenger side but do not see any wires attached, is it possible that its been reconnected somewhere else , maybe under the intake, as I mentioned before this had the recall work done and I found other things messed up after that work, I did loosen and re-tighten a block that has 3 wire connectors to it but , they seem to be some sort of vacuum switches, is it possible for me to take pictures of this area and send them or post them somewhere? I'm going to look some more but I checked pretty well are there some other ends of these wires that I may be able to trace back to the point you refer to??? Thanks again for your patience, and guidance, I'll look forward to hearing back from you
Thank You Gary, mine is a 93  3vze 3.0

Answer
It's possible that they were attached somewhere elso but not too far away since they will not reach very far from the correct ground point, they should be attached to the rear camshaft bearing housing, you may have to use a mirror and a light, the ground point is close to the metal fuel line, if you think it would help to send pictures then send them directly to me at <tedrttr@yahoo.com>
