Toyota Repair: cant start car, toyota pickup, spark plugs

Question
'87 toyota pickup, 22r. i was driving up and hill yesterday and as i was stepping on the gas, the engine started losing power,i pulled over of the road and checked if my carb was getting fuel, it was. when i tried starting the truck and it would not  start.

Answer
Check to see if there is spark to the spark plugs, remove a spark plug connector and hold it about 1/4" away from a ground and see if there is spark when turning the engine over, if no the problem could be either the igniter module or the distributor with the distributor being the most likely cause.
