Toyota Repair: toyota tocoma ignition not turning over, toyota tocoma, lively hood

Question
ok so I have a 2001 toy taco and I've driven it for close to 3 years when I bought it it was used but it was taken care of very well. I drove it for about 2 years and started having ignition problems, the Key started to give me some resistance I tried to use graphite and that gave me some help. But finally it just gave out. Now I can't even get the key to turn over. I should be able to do the repair myself but I don't know exactly which part to try and find. so in short 2001 Toyota Tacoma that they key wont turn in everything else is working fine I just can't get it to turn over  my key's slightly worn down but the problem started long before the key started to file down.  Any help with this would be great I'm working on a really small budget and this truck is pretty much my lively hood.  Thanks for any help

Answer
The ignition lock cylinder should be replaced, you can get a new one from the toyota dealer, the problem is that you will need somehow to get the key into the ACC position to remove the old lock cylinder, remove the covers around the steering wheel and look for a small hole in the lock housing, the release pin to get the lock out is in there, when you have the new cylinder you can locate where the pin is, with the key in  the acc position the pin can be depressed and the cylinder pulled out then it's just a matter of putting the new cylinder into the acc p[osition and inserting it back into the lock housing, if you have difficulty moving the key then have a new one made using the VIN# at the dealer, doing so may allow the key to be turned to the acc position, sometimes jiggeling the key around works, once it's in the acc position leave it there until the pin can be depressed and the cylinder pulled out.
