Toyota Repair: Engine Missing, lexus es300, foot on the gas

I have a"98" Lexus ES300 W/1MZ engine. Some times when it rains it starts to miss after driving for about 20-25 min. I can always get it home if I keep one foot on the gas and one on the brake. If I let it sit over night in the garage it is fine the next day.

Most likely the ignition wires resistance is high, they can be
checked with an ohm meter. Rule of thumb is approx 12k ohms per foot.
When there bad they  will be 25k on up per foot.
In addition inspect the Distributor cap outside and inside for
cracks or wear.
