Toyota Repair: brake repairs, changing brake pads, pad replacement

Question
We own 2005 Toyota Sienna. Dealer tells us front brakes have 19% left and should be changed soon.  They quoted us price for changing brake pads.  A different mechanic recommends changing the pads and rotors.  A 3rd mechanic recommends shaving/reforming  rotors and putting new pads.  Which way to repair front brakes do you recommend?

Answer
Karen,
Good question. I can not tell you without looking at the rotors myself. It sounds like all you need done is pad replacement
otherwise the dealer would have recommend it. If the rotors are not warped or scraped up, they do not need replacing or turning down.
(most of the time its less expensive to have the rotors turned down then replaced). The pads should be replaced now.
