Toyota Repair: 2004 RAV 4, 2 quarts, 2004 rav 4

Question
QUESTION: I had my oil changed by my dealer a few days ago and I just noticed the the oil level is above the full mark on the dip stick. Do I need to take this back to the dealer to have this corrected or will I be okay?  Can this cause any harm to the engine?

ANSWER: If it's only 1/4" or less above the full mark there should be no problem.

QUESTION: It is one inch above the full mark

Answer
That's too much, about one quart overfilled, maybe more,an oil level that is too high can cause oil smoke from the tailpipe or oil to get into the intake system, have the excess oil drained out, this engine takes 4.2 quarts when replacing the oil filter and about 3.9qts without chaning the oil filter.
