Toyota Repair: Toyota Camry transmission, toyota camry, transmission problem

Question
A few months ago my 93 camry started to act up it would slide outta gear while driving and the only wat i could get it to go back in is while driving shift to neutral turn of the vehicle while rolling, turn off the car restart in neutral then shift inot drive and it would go again for about 15 miles then it would do it again, i did this for about 3 days to a week because i didnt have the money to take it to the shop. after that it died out on me one day and i tried to drive it and i had to floor the gass to make it go like 5 mph. then it just quit it shifts into gear and everything but it just doesnt go. i dnt have the money to take it to a shop unless i have a good idea whats goin and so i dnt get screwed and they say i need to replace my tranny when it could be something else please help me thank you

Answer
Have you checked the transmission fluid level, if not it should be done first, also check the fluid if it smells burned or is real dark, this would indicate a transmission problem. If the fluid is just low add some to the full mark and check for a possible leak at the transmission, let me know what you find.
