Toyota Repair: replacing oil pan gasket, pan gasket, oil leaks

Question
How do I get the oil pan off on a 1994 Toyota Pickup 2WD in order to replace the oil pan gasket?

Answer
Are you talking about a 22R-E engine? In any case, there's no such thing as an oil pan gasket. Toyota uses a silicone known in the dealership as "fip". It's a black colored camshaft housing sealer that's very effective in preventing oil leaks.

In order to remove the oil pan, you need to remove the cross member that connects the frame under the engine (4 bolts). The engine will need to be jacked up a bit (to clear the steering arms) for the pan to slide out towards the back once the pan bolts are removed.
