Toyota Repair: Corolla Blinking High Beam Indicator, corolla ve, fuse block

Question
My daughter is in college and her 1999 Corolla VE lighting problem is killing me. Please see this link for all the particulars: http://www.fixya.com/cars/t849401-high_beam_indicator_blinking

Answer
Replacing the headlight relay or DRL relay will not fix this problem, I have seen some cases where there is a high resistance in the ground circuit for the headlights due to corroded or bad ground connections which will usually cause a couple of wires on the fuse block connectors to overheat and cause too much resistance which can cause these weird problems. Check the brown ground wires on the front of the junction block where all the fuses are, check to see if any of them are overheated and repair them as necessary, there is also a connector under the dash that has a lot of white/black ground wires going into it, most of the time the connections inside get corroded, this is a ground bus connection which grounds a lot of circuits, disconnect it from the connector and check the connections inside.
