Toyota Repair: fuel pump, 2005 toyota corolla, toyota corolla

My moms has a 2005 Toyota Corolla and the fuel pump went out today, my husband is going to fix it, but my mom does not want him to work on it if he has to get it through the gas (or something??) My husband said on some cars there are like an opening through the truck or back seat, do you know if he can get to the fuel pump through something like that?? Thanks so much-

The fuel pump can be accessed through a cover under the rear seat cushion bottom part, the seat can be pried up to release the clips in the front of the seat, once the seat is out you can see the cover in the metal, remove the cover, the fuel pump is underneath.
