Toyota Repair: 2000 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner, vacuum line, negative terminal

Question
I just had my truck smogged yesterday and now today the check engine light came on. This seems to happen every time and usually its a vacuum line that popped off. This time I reattached it and still the light is on. I am not sure what to look for now. Your help would be much appreciated.

Answer
You need to erase the hard code that's stored on your ECU. To do this, disconnect the main fuse or the negative terminal of your battery for 60 seconds or more, then re-connect it. Then, turn key to "on" position to see if light is on. If the light returns, you will need to pull the codes to diagnose problem.
