Toyota Repair: rear light warning & check engine light, toyota camry, autozone

I have a 98 Toyota Camry.  The rear light warning light and the check engine light came on at the same time and has remained on.  The rear lights seem to work fine.  In addition, the reverse light is always on, even when the vehicle is in drive.  All of these appeared the same day.

The check engine light may be the root cause of the problem so I would recommend having the trouble codes retreived that are in the computer, most autoparts stores will do this at no charge, try autozone, kragen, chief autoparts. When the codes are known post a follow up if necessary.
